Concert charity money

We are delighted to share that we raised a total of £838.81 from the Remembrance concert, and at least (still waiting on a couple of invoices!) £1050 from the Christmas concert (£600 of which from Lesley’s raffle!). A really huge thank you to all who sang in and supported these events – they were such a success! A big thank you from Ann and Alison in particular to all those who helped out Front of House, backstage and donated raffle items and refreshments.

Our next concert date will be Saturday 16th March where we will team up with CLASP choir for Comic Relief. This is likely to be at the Bradbury Centre Wokingham, and we will have timings/more info soon.

Music: We have ordered copies the Fleetwood Mac – ‘Rumours’ Medley (by popular vote! Though we may also try out the James Bond Medley this summer…)

Alongside this, please bring copies of (if you have them):

Billy Joel – And So It Goes
California Dreaming
Up On the Roof

Wokingham choir

Our next concert date will be this summer on the Saturday 29th June, at St Paul’s Church Wokingham. We will be accompanied by brilliant professional harpist, Melissa Palmer: https://www.london-harpist.com/

Further ahead, we are planning another concert with the Maestros’ Symphony Orchestra for Easter 2020, and are hoping to perform a large-scale, multi-movement work with them. We are meeting the Maestros in a few weeks so should have more details soon!

Music: In our summer concert we will include one piece we previously sung in 2017 –  Faure – ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’. Please bring a copy of this if you have one.

Other new scores will be provided, including Bach/Gounod – ‘Ave Maria’ and Saint-Saens – ‘Calmes des nuits’. Here are recordings of these two:
