Firstly, congratulations to Bracknell Choir for a wonderful concert on Saturday and thank you to all who came along and supported the event.
Please see music below to bring for the remainder of the summer term. This is the music for our remaining two events – Wokingham Choir’s ‘Gloria’ concert and our joint end-of term event, also involving CLASP Choir. The latter will mark CLASP Choir’s 10th Anniversary, so in celebration of this we will sing a couple of songs jointly with them at the event.
More details for each event below, and final info to follow.
Many thanks for your attention,
Louise
Dates for the term:
- Saturday July 19th at All Saints, Wokingham: Vivaldi Gloria Concert – Wokingham Choir & Joshua Ryan – Reh 4-6pm, concert 7.30pm
- Saturday July 26th at St Crispins School, Wokingham: Summer picnic and sing-out – both choirs & CLASP choir 1-3pm
Music for Wokingham Choir:
As a final addition to our existing concert pieces, we have the new ‘Eileen Aroon’ which I have arranged. This is an Irish folksong, popular in the 1700s within Vivaldi and Beethoven’s lifetimes, and much admired by another famous composer of the time, Handel, while visiting Ireland. The piano accompaniment I have written takes inspiration from Vivaldi’s Gloria.
For the end of term event, we will reprise a small selection of our concert pieces as well as ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, jointly with Bracknell Choir and CLASP Choir.
- Eileen Aroon (NEW)
- You’ll Never Walk Alone (NEW)
Music for Bracknell Choir:
For the end of term event, we will reprise the Les Miserables Medley, along with ‘Eileen Aroon’ with Wokingham Choir (see info above) and two pieces with CLASP Choir: Summer Holiday and You’ll Never Walk Alone.
