Dear Choir Members,
Over the last few years, we have all faced price rises and higher inflation, and of course the choir has not escaped these increasing costs. The trustees have done their very best to manage choir finances by finding affordable alternatives when price increases are too much, such as relocating the Wokingham choir rehearsal venue from St Crispin’s to the more affordable St Cecilia’s.
Those of you who have been with the choir for some time will know we have not increased membership fees for 8 years.
Unfortunately, the choir is no longer able to absorb these increased costs, and the Trustees have reluctantly made the decision to increase our membership fees as follows:
- One choir – £24 per month
- Both choirs – £34 per month
The changes will take effect from 1st January 2025, please would you all amend your standing order payments to reflect this.
We will continue to provide music scores and uniform items at cost price and will always search for best value options in all spending.
We hope you will continue to find choir the most fun you can have for £5.53 a week!
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to our membership secretary, Ann Stainton.
Sing Healthy Choirs – Events co-ordinator(s)
In the past we have had a volunteer events co-ordinator whose job it was to make sure that each concert is managed as effectively and efficiently as possible. Recently the trustees have taken this role, but are now looking for someone, or a small group of people who could take this task on and be the interface between the trustees and the musical directors working with Ann Stainton. There would be support, guidance and help every step of the way. There is also a job description available for anyone who would like to read it. Please approach Ann or a Trustee should you be interested.
Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter. Enjoy the last few rehearsals before our Christmas Concert and always remember the Trustees are happy to hear of any comments/ideas which may help to develop and make our choirs even more successful.
A full Trustee newsletter will be published in the New Year.
Best wishes
The Trustees
