A really big thank you to all who have attended the Christmas sing outs so far, and to Brenda and David. Likewise, thank you to those who sang brilliantly for our last-minute BBC Berkshire Radio performance! You can listen here (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07ttppp) at 01:44:17 & 01:55:16 (for the next month).

Please see final details below for our upcoming Christmas concert, along with a few other announcements.

Thanks for your attention,

Louise

Both choirs: Christmas concert – 14th Dec 7.30pm (rehearsal 3pm), St Crispins School

Reminder of what to bring: Formal choir dress – all black & red ties/scarves. (Please wear black shoes; opaque black tights if not wearing trousers!)
Folders will be provided. We suggest keeping valuables discreetly with you on stage (small handbags & water bottles are fine) as we do not have a secure space to leave possessions, though there will be space in the gym hall to leave coats and bags.

Please bring your music in the following running order:

  • Hark the Herald
  • The Shepherd’s Farewell
  • Kings of Orient
  • A Great and Mighty Wonder
  • The First Nowell
  • Lully, Lulla, Lullay
  • Jingle Bells
  • Schneewalzer
  • (Twelve Days of Christmas – words will be provided)

Concert support/cakes: A big thank you to those who have offered help so far. More front-of-house/refreshments support would still be appreciated, so please speak to Alison, or reply to this email, if you have friends or family who would be willing to support us, and likewise if you able to provide items for the cake sale on the day. Thank you also to those who have donated raffle items!

Tickets/promo: tickets are still available at https://www.singhealthy.co.uk/tickets, at rehearsals, or on the door.

Both choirs: potential BBC Breakfast performance – Thurs 19th Dec – hold the date/register your interest

We have been asked to sing carols at Windsor Castle as a live backdrop on BBC Breakfast (BBC1). It would mean arriving at Windsor very early in the morning and walking around to various parts of the Castle. We are yet to gain final confirmation or details, but if you would be interested in taking part, please send a quick reply to this email and we will be in touch. We can’t guarantee numbers as we don’t know how many we’d be allowed and we’d need to balance sections, but hope to include as many as possible!

Wokingham Choir: Faure Requiem update

We are looking to start promoting and selling tickets for our Faure requiem concert within the next month. More details to follow. Proceeds will be donated to Berkshire Maestros (https://www.berkshiremaestros.org.uk/), reciprocating their continuing support to us, and Wokingham-based charity The Link Visiting Scheme (https://www.linkvisiting.org/), recommended by our concert venue.

Both choirs: Term Dates

Autumn term rehearsals finish on Dec 11th. Spring 2020 rehearsals will run from Jan 6th until Apr 1st. No rehearsals in half term week (17th & 19th Feb).
