We hope you have had an enjoyable summer break and are looking forward to starting back this September! It’s going to be a packed term, and we have summarised the upcoming events in this rather long email!
Firstly, If you would like to take part in the Stairway project, please read the info directly below.
Following this, there is somebeginning of term info, followed by other upcoming events.

STAIRWAY performance at Royal Academy of Music – Tuesday 20th November

This performance will be the result of one of Louise’s compositions, developed (and simplified!) in the choir workshops. It is open to both choirs, and it is not essential that you attended either workshop to take part. However, there are limited possible places due to the size ofthe performance space, and, to take part, you must be:

  • Available for the whole day on Tuesday 20th November, when we will be travelling to and from the Academy by coach.
  • Available for a rehearsal the afternoon of Sunday 18th November at Birch Hill School, Bracknell.
  • Willing to perform from memory (the piece has only two words, and no notated score, and instructions will be distributed in advance for practice).
  • Able to climb large flights of stairs and stand for long periods of time. (No way around this, as my brief was to write for the choir on the staircase!)
  • Not too scared of heights! (The staircase is spacious, but we will be standing alongside the banisters so you will be able to see a drop.)

Please speak to Louise if you have any questions about the above.

We are asking for a £5 contribution from each participant to help cover costs inc. coach hire. The Academy has also kindly contributed towards these costs.

To sign-up: we will have half the places available at rehearsal on 10th Sept, and the other half on 12th Sept. If there are remaining places after this, we will fill them on any following rehearsals.
